Yes, the Chelicerate did indeed have some sound design when up close and when it was attacking, but it wasn't nearly as frightening as some creatures in the first game like the Sea Dragon and the Reaper Leviathan. When I got close to the Chelicerate, for example, I was only minimally frightened by the sheer size and look of the creature. In the original Subnautica, I struggled to get enough courage to get close to the Aurora without getting scared off by the incredibly scary roar the Reaper Leviathan let off at a distance and up close. I feel like some of the leviathans didn't sound as threatening as the first game.
